Madrid city is populated by about 3.3 million people who are from different ethnic groups such as- Andalucians, Catalonians, Valencians and Gallegos, but it is mainly Castilians dominated city. Most of the people are Castilians in Madrid, since they have adopted Roman Catholicism as their religion. People in Madrid celebrate different festivals, enjoy late night foods and adventure game like bullfights with full zest and zeal.

As Madrid city is occupied by different groups of people. Most of the territories have been covered with Castilians, but there are also Spanish people from different ethnic groups such as- Catalanians, Valencians, Andalucians and Gallegos. Beside these, there are also large numbers of people who have migrated from different countries like China, Peru, Romania, North Africa, Latin America, Ecuador and Middle East due to which Madrid is also recognized as cosmopolitan city throughout the world. Most of the foreigners had migrated between the period 1950s and 1960s when the industrial development campaigns were carried out.

The modern Madrid was occupied by Romans till 9th century and it was taken over by Visigoth groups for short period again it went on the hands of Muslim communities at the end of 9th century. There was continuous struggle between Christians and Muslims under the name of freedom. Christians wanted to win back the city from the hands of Muslim rulers, it took place till 11th century.
